Woohoo we made it to the third and last post on the Makeup Geek lipsticks. If you missed them, part 1 on the Makeup Geek Iconic lipsticks is here, and part 2 on the Plush Cremes is here. This time we’re talking of their matte liquid lipsticks: take a look at these Makeup Geek Plush Matte swatches.
The Makeup Geek Plush Matte are, as you might imagine, liquid lipsticks that dry down to a matte finish. There are 18 shades and the range is definitely filled with fun and bold shades, lots of cool toned purples and greys. I received a selection of five shades to try and you can see my reactions and live swatches in the video above.
The formula of the Makeup Geek Plush Matte lipsticks is different from your usual liquid-to-matte lipsticks, or at least the ones I am used to. The texture is moussy and thicker than Colourpop Ultra Mattes or Lime Crime Velvetines, and it doesn’t dry down like a “film” on the lips but rather like a matte bullet lipstick. Does this make sense? This makes them quite a bit less drying and more comfortable than the others.
My favorite shades are Marriage Material and Boss Lady, a mauvy MLBB shde that is still warm enough for my warm undertones, and a muted burgundy that isn’t loud but definitely speaks out for itself.
The Makeup Geek Plush Matte liquid lipsticks retail for $12 and contain 1.8 mL of product. You can find these on the Makeup Geek website only for now, but we can hope they will be easily available internationally through BeautyBay soon.
What do you think of these? Did you eye something you like?
