Another month, another Glossybox to open! I got my first one in February (read all about it here) and was really excited to find a new box in my mail box this month. I can’t thank the team at GlossyBox enough. March 8th was International Women’s Day and GlossyBox chose Woman Crush to be the theme for the March Glossybox. Let’s take a look inside Glossybox March 2017.
Mary Kay Timewise Repair Volu-firm set
Deluxe Sample set / Full size for $205
The first big piece in the box is this Mary Kay anti-aging skincare set. Mary Kay is a brand that sells through a direct sale model, with multi-tier-model consultants usually, so it is surprising to find it in a subscription box. nevertheless I am excited to try a brand I would never get a hold on otherwise, since you cannot buy it in store. This set is targeted to all signs of aging and provides a full routine, including cleanser, serum, day and night moisturizer and eye cream. I am honestly excited especially because it is a full routine and you can really get a feel whether these products will work for you with the deluxe size samples.
Figs & Rouge Avancé+ Emulsifying Emulsion
Deluxe Sample 0.5 fl.oz. / Full Size 1.0 fl.oz. for $30
I was really looking forward to trying out this primer since I have visible pores and combination/oily skin. This is a deluxe sample with half the amount that you get in the full size, so it’s an amazing value in the box. I have tried it in a recent video (here) and it is not siliconey at all, very pleasant to wear but somewhat less effective than a silicon primer like Benefit’s Porefessional. I personally prefer this lotion-type primer because my skin still feels like it can breathe but my oils are controlled.
Emité Makeup Millesis Active Eye Light, shade 101
Full size 0.4 oz for $25
This is one of those skincare-makeup hybrid. It is an eye cream targeted to reduce signs of aging and is tinted to also color correct and minimize the appearance of dark circles. As you can see on the video, it looked a bit too grey for my skin tone, but I have since tried it on my skin, and I really like it to use on no-makeup days. It is not as obvious as a concealer but definitely brightens the under eye area. I don’t know that I will really feel the skincare results by using it so sparingly, but I am really enjoying it nonetheless.
Incoco Nail Polish Appliqué
Full size / one set for $8
These are 100% nail polish appliqués that make for an instant spring mani including nail art. i have never tried to use these nail-transfers but I love the white and watercolor design that I got and will definitely try them on when my nails actually grow out a bit (sigh).
Catrice Cosmetics Absolute Rose Eyeshadow Palette 010
Full size for $7
I am so glad Catrice Cosmetics is making their way to the US! This is one of my favorite low cost drugstore brands. Sadly, I don’t find their eyeshadow palettes to be among their best products, and this one isn’t as pigmented as I’d like. My recommendations for Catrice products include the Catrice Liquid Camouflage Concealer, powder blushes, and All Matt Plus foundation. Glossybox offers an exclusive 25% discount on catricecosmetics.com by using the code GLOSSY25 (valid until April 30,2017).
Tarte Cosmetics Tarteguard 30 Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30
Full size 1.7 fl.oz. for $32
The whole March Glossybox is worth it just for this product. I was so excited because the warm season is (or will eventually be in Michigan) here and I was ready to purchase my face sunscreen. As you may know, you need to change your sunscreen each year because their effectiveness decreases with time, so at the beginning of the spring I usually look into getting a new SPF lotion. Well, I’m set now! This full size SPF 30 Tarte lotion is a physical (non-chemical) sunscreen and moisturizing formula that is hypoallergenic and vegan-friendly. You’ll hear more about this once I get more testing done with warmer weather.
GlossyBox March 2017
So overall I am super happy with this box, it is well worth the $21 that it costs and you get over $100 worth of product! I want to thank again the GlossyBox team for sending me these boxes so that I can share my opinions with you guys. You can subscribe to GlossyBox here, with a $21 month-to-month subscription that you can cancel anytime.
What do you think? Did you get any subscription box this month?
