Just a few days ago the beauty community got taken aback by the surprise sneak peek of the new Urban Decay Naked Heat palette, the fifth in the Naked palette family, characterized by gorgeous and very trendy warm toned shades. I was totally prey of this surprise sneak peek and the moment I saw the promotional image, I wanted it right away. Warm colors are my jam, just take a look at my Instagram feed. Reviews and swatches started coming out by bloggers and youtubers I trust and I started being less enthusiastic about this new Naked Heat palette, so here is a product-specific antihaul, as well my Urban Decay Naked Heat dupes.
You can find all my opinions and considerations in the video as usual. This post is for the photos of the swatches and those of you who don’t want to hear me blab about warm nudes for fifteen minutes lol.
The Urban Decay Naked Heat contains 12 shades, of which 7 are matte. Personally I love matte eyeshadows, in fact I use around 4 mattes and 1 shimmer for my daily makeup. So you can imagine ho happy I was that they added so many mattes. That was at least until I saw swatches and videos where at least a few of the mattes blend into each other and look the same on the eyes. This was reason number one for me not to want to buy it. Second reason you can see in the image above: I have so many warm nudes. So many.
I don’t have the original palette, so my Urban Decay Naked Heat dupes are more like really similar alternatives. My main point is not to dupe exactly the swatches, but as others said on some of my looks on Instagram (check them out here), it looks like they were made with the Urban Decay Naked Heat.
I picked among my single eyeshadow collection that swatched the most similar to swatches I have seen online by Temptalia and Phyrra whom I trust. Most of the Urban Decay naked Heat dupes are Makeup Geek and Colourpop eyeshadows, which are also my favorite formulas. Devinah Cosmetics also makes some amazingly pigmented shimmery eyeshadows, like Voodoo shown below.
Some of the shadows I chose, like Makeup Geek Flamethrower, have an even better pigmentation and metallic foiled sheen than the ones in the Urban Decay Naked Heat. So ou see, I am a haapy owner of a whole palette full of these colors and I will happily skip buying the new Urban Decay Naked Heat.
Did you purchase this palette during the pre-orders on June 15th or are you planning on getting it when it releases on June 30th? Or did I convince you with my Urban Decay Naked Heat dupes? Let me know in the comments below.
