Nabla Goldust collection review and swatches

nabla goldust collection swatch review

I haven’t been this excited by a makeup collection in a while. The new Nabla Goldust collection has made my heart beat a bit faster since the press release at the end of November. A collection inspired by the Golden Age, or Belle Epoque, those years of art, music and parties just before the First World War. Think of Paris at night, reflections of gold and copper, flowing chiffon dresses and the art of Klimt. Well all of this excites me a lot when combined with new formulations of eyeshadows and a new finish for lipsticks. After stalking this collection on the blogosphere thanks to the work of colleague bloggers (Marta from Caffelatte for Breakfast, Elsa from Like a Candyshop, Stefania from Nude Powder, Chia of La Vie en Cosmetique, just to name a few), I decided to pick up a selection of products that I knew I would get a lot of use from and would give me an idea of the novelties introduced with the Nabla Goldust collection.

After spending some time playing with the products and off the record, I think I can safely report here my opinions and experiences on the Nabla Goldust collection.

Nabla Goldust Collection look 3 – Klimt gold

nabla goldust collection look 3 klimt

We are talking Nabla Cosmetics Goldust collection again on this blog (see look 1 and look 2). This third look using the new holiday collection was a bit less spontaneous and more out of my comfort zone. The focus of the look is meant to be the gorgeous Nabla Dazzleliner Klimt, the only limited edition piece of the Goldust collection. This is such a unique gold liner with a very strong red undertone like I have never seen before. I understand when a lot of people tell me they don’t know whether they would ever use it, but to me it inspires richness and lines like nothing else. Can you tell I’m in love with this collection?

Nabla Goldust collection look 2 – Radikal Noir

nabla goldust look 2 radikal

I don’t know what it is, but I have been feeling unusually inspired these days, both with my makeup and photos, and I think it is all because of the new Nabla Goldust collection. I mean, I even styled my hair for this look! I have been testing the collection out to write a review for you guys and posting some looks and first impressions on the go. You can read the first one here. Let’s get into Nabla Goldust collection look 2.

The second look in exploration of the new Nabla Cosmetics Goldust collection is dedicated to the eyeshadow Radikal. This super-matte army green seemed like the perfect companion to the other earthy shadows in the collection (as I tried to do here), but I wanted to show case it with its own shimmery brother Extravirgin and the connecting line of the collection, the gold eyeliner.

Devinah Cosmetics eyeshadow haul and swatches

That I’m a single eyeshadow collector doesn’t come to a surprise with all the recent posts on swatches and comparisons (here and here). So when an indie brand that sells single eyeshadow pans got onto my radar, it was just a matter of time before I placed an order. I found out about Devinah Cosmetics at the end of last year thanks to the lovely girls of Beguiles and Dolls on Instagram, and purchased my first highlighters from them during the Black Friday sale (here). I was trying to be strong and not buy any more eyeshadows, but I finally caved during a recent restock and here are some Devinah Cosmetics eyeshadow swatches.

Rediscovering the blogging world

Last summer I accepted a request that was for me more of a challenge: I made my first Youtube video. It started on request from some girls in a makeup group (Armocromia – Rossetto e Merletto) to do a tutorial on the makeup looks I was posting to help less expert girls to achieve the looks. Well since then Youtube has now become my main focus and I have just realized how I lost contact with blogging ever since.

Red Glitter Lips Tutorial

red glitter lips tutorial video youtube diy how to

The holidays are upon us (yes, I like to use this phrase a lot) and red lips are a must for this season. One of the trends that has taken the internet by storm is glitter lips, introduced by Pat McGrath on the Versace runway some months ago. She even released her glitter lip kits, but you don’t have to spend $60 to achieve the look. In this tutorial I show you three ways to create red glitter lips using makeup products that are affordable and already part of your collection.
