Paciugopedia 3 #9: minty summer look

paciugopedia-3-9-collage-title
The Paciugopedia series by BeautyBats is back this month with a summery look and a twist. I couldn’t be happier to have the chance to use some of my recent Makeup Geek eyeshadow purchases (swatches and review here). This original look is again from the gorgeous Kamilcia (here) and is a teal smokey liner with a light cut crease in neutral colors. The shape of this look is really beautiful on her and I tried to get it to work with my hooded eyes. Such long wings work well paired with some half lashes to balance it out. But let’s take a look at how I realized it.

Linda Hallberg inspired makeup: Story of a failed Paciugopedia

linda-hallberg-inspired-makeup-colors-2

On a quiet Saturday afternoon I set up to do my Paciugopedia3 look for May, a beautiful turquoise inverted liner by the amazing Linda Hallberg (here). My oh my it was a disaster. It turned up really unflattering on my down-turned hooded eyes because it really emphasized the hood. I took it all off and decided to attempt another look from Linda, one that would still challenge my skills but would still be flattering on me. I picked this colourful look inspired by the Chanel SS15 runway. Although I do not shy away from colored eye looks, this features shades that are definitely outside my comfort zone. I hope Svampi from BeautyBats, the creator of this series still passes this as a Paciugo.

Paciugopedia 3 #4: warm toned and red smokey liner

warm smokey liner makeup look paciugopedia
I’m a bit late but here is the fourth episode of the Paciugopedia3 by Beautybats. In this series we try to reproduce or give our own interpretation of looks by other beauty bloggers/vloggers. If you missed the previous episodes you can find them here. For the month of January, the chosen look is a warm toned and red smokey liner by Kamilcia that you can see in the top left quadrant of the collage above. I love this look for the use of red eyeshadow, which is my favorite color to wear as makeup.

Paciugopedia3 #2: Plum smokey eye with a silver pop

Welcome back to the second appointment with the Paciugopedia3 initiated by Beautybats, where a bunch of beauty addicted attempt to reproduce and reinterpret looks from famous makeup artists and beauty bloggers. Last month was time for a colourful green and purple look that you can find here, and for November the look is this intense plum smokey eye by the instagrammer @makeupby_ev21.

The biggest challenge I found was finding the right shade for the lid. I had multiple alternatives like Mimesis by Nabla or the Plum shade in the Lorac Pro 2 palette, but in the end I went with the Kiko Colour-Up Long Lasting Eyeshadow Crayon n.33 from the Daring Game collection. It made application and blending a bit of a nightmare because it set really quickly and after an hour my oily lids had it crease all over the place. Oh what we do for a good Paciugo (lol).

The sharp lines of the wings were only possible thanks to the “tape trick”. Now to be honest here, placing the tapes down symmetrically was a challenge, especially since my eyes are not symmetrical at all.

The original look called for a glossy baby pink lips, which is really not me. I don’t own any color like that, or any lipgloss for that matter, so I tried by using Wet n Wild Megalast lipstick in 903c Just Peachy. Well, that didn’t really work for me so I folded back to my latest obsession MAC Instigator to finish up the look. Dark eyes, dark lips, I was in makeup heaven!

Paciugopedia3 #1: Poison Berry

Welcome to the first installment of the Paciugopedia!
This is a series started by BeautyBats that has now reached its third edition among Italian beauty bloggers, in which we recreate makeup looks from gorgeous/amazing/talented beauty gurus like Linda Halberg (insert heart shaped eyes here). It’s a great way to challenge myself and try something new and daring and improve my makeup skills. There will be a look every first day of the month for a year, so let’s get this party started!

The first look is Poison Berry from I Love My Addiction, a beautiful combination of green and purple that makes me think of the character Poison Ivy from Batman. I was excited and intimidated to recreate such a bright and colorful look and the biggest challenge was finding the right colors and deciding on the shape of the look. Clearly something went wrong with my wing liner as I normally never place it so low/horizontal. All in all I am quite pleased with the eyeshadow look though. Please forgive the low quality of the photos, I was fighting with the camera settings and didn’t notice it went in low resolution mode.

Base:
  • L’Oreal Infallible 24h Matte foundation, I mixed shade 20 and 24
  • L’Oreal Le Touche Magique Highlighting Concealer in Ivory beige
  • Mac Blot Powder
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit, shade Banana under the eyes and Java to contour
  • Nyx Powder Blush in Dusty Rose
  • The Balm Mary Lou Manizer highlighter

Eyes:

  • Maybelline Color Tatto in Eternal Gold
  • 120 Color Eyeshadow Palette (bought it on ebay many years ago, no brand, but BH Cosmetics makes some great ones)
  • Lorac Pro pallete, Black
  • Inglot Eyeshadow 412 in the inner corner
  • Nabla Cosmetics Cattleya on the lower lash line
  • Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl in Purple in the waterline
  • Inglot Gel Liner n.77
  • Kiko Supercolour Eyeliner 110
  • Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara
  • Essence Half Lashes
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Chocolate
Lips:
  • Gerards Cosmetics Hydra Matte Liquid Lipstick in Serenity
  • L’Oreal Collectrion La Vie En Rose J.Lo’s Pink, dabbed on top

In the Pinterest album below you can find the original look and the interpretations of the other girls involved.
