H&M Beauty Powder Blushes: swatches, review and depotting in a ZPalette

h&m blushes swatch and review
The H&M Beauty Department stole my heart from the launch back in October (haul here), and since then I have made countless trips to my local shop and ordered online for makeup bits. Of the many valid products in the line, they surely hit the target with the blushes. They come in powder or cream form and over 20 shades. Today I’m going to share my collection of  powder blushes and a small tutorial on how to store them in a ZPalette.

Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Blush Palette review and swatches

urban decay gwen stefani blush palette
One of my new obsessions is blush, so when the new Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Blush Palette was released, I was immediately tempted. I had never tried Urban Decay blushes before and reviews are extremely positive for the their quality and pigmentation. Plus I have a weak spot for palettes, as we all know. Pile on top of that a 20% discount code on Feelunique, and this baby came home with me immediately. I am star struck since I put my eyes on it, so let’s take a look.

The Fall Blush Edit: my top 5 most used

Long gone is our summer glow and welcome candid skin. Every year losing my tan makes me quite unhappy, and although I have been known to use the occasional tinting lotion, this year I decided to embrace the mozzarella inside me. One of the positive notes is that I have infuse some healthy color using typically autumnal blushes. Here are my 5 most used blushes in these cold months.

The colors range from darker reds to mauve and rosy pinks. Whereas in summer shimmer is a big no-no for me since I got my own shine going on with my oily skin, in winter I like adding a sheen on my cheeks and here come out a few blushes with some shimmer as well. So let’s check them out.

  • Essence Silky Touch Blush in 070 Kissable (2.59€ here and at the drugstore): this is a mid tone rose color with a golden shimmer that really warms up the complexion.
  • Kiko Soft Touch Blush in 107 Tomato (7.50€ here): this matte formula is super pigmented and needs a light hand, but it gives the most beautiful red-but-pink flush. You can see it in action here and here.
  • NYX blush in Dusty Rose (6.99€ here): the newcomer, is the satin peachy-pink one that reminds you of summer but has the darker rose tone in there that brings it on strong for fall.
  • E.L.F. Cosmetics Studio Blush in Blushing Rose (4.00€ here): is the darker and more mauvy of these but has a beautiful golden satin sheen, not shimmer.
  • Sleek Blush by 3 in Sugar (12.99€ here): this is a triple threat and contains three gorgeous shades for fall. The first from the left is a matte dark red that is not too pigmented and just looks vampy on the cheeks (see it here), the second looks the scariest and gives a rusty color with gold shimmer and finally the third is a matte pumpkin orange that fits all your warmer looks.
So here are my picks for fall blushes coincidentally all drugstore and affordable products, you know me. Which one is your favorite? Do you have any other blush you would suggest?

Guest Post: Top 5 Summer Blushes

L to R: Guerlain Terracotta Sun Celebration face powder, Maybelline Terre Indienne in 09 Golden Tropics, MAC Mineralize Blush in Lured To Love, Gosh Natural Blush in 43 Flower Power, Bourjois blush in 16 Love-struck Rose

Hi Beauties!
I have been following on Alice’s blog for sometime and enjoy reading her posts. I love skincare Mondays and her makeup looks 🙂 I’m so happy to do a guest post in her blog and today I’m sharing my top 5 blushes for summer. As you can see in the picture above I prefer peachy toned blushes for summer.  I find they give a gorgeous glow to the cheek and look fab with tan. Not that I ever get tanned, but girl can dream 😉

First blush I’m going to share with you guys is from brand called Guerlain and its not only a blush. I use it as blush, but you get there a 2 different blushes and a bronzer. It’s called TerracottaSun Celebration face powder (16 g).

The packaging of it is gorgeous and it smells so good! It gives the most amazing glow to the cheeks. Its pigmented, but not that much that I have to be extra careful when I’m applying it. For me its a perfect product for summer, but its pricey. If you are on a budget when it comes to makeup then you might wanna check out my next favorite, which is Maybelline Terre Indiennebronzing powder + blush in shade 09 Golden Tropics (16 g). It comes with a bronzer and blusher together and I use it as a blush.

It doesn’t smell as good as the Guerlain bronzer/blush, but it has the same effect. The Maybelline one needs more building up, but it does look gorgeous on the cheeks and the product looks cute 😉

Next favorite is the MAC mineralize blush in Lured to Love(3.5 g) and its a gorgeous peach toned blush and give a lovely glow to the cheeks. I’m all about the glow on summertime 😀 It doesn’t have any shimmer in it, which I like for a change. It just makes your face glow in good way 😉

My next favorite is a more classic pink blush, which you can wear anytime of the year and it’s from Gosh. I have talked about this blush many times in my blog and it has been in my favorites as well. Now you all wonder what the hell am I talking about 😛 I’m talking about their Natural Blush in the shade 43 Flower Power. It gives very natural flush to the cheeks and looks natural, plus it goes with many makeup looks.

The last favorite is from Bourjois and it’s their baked blush and is in shade 16 Love-struck Rose. At a first glance it might seem to shimmery and you might think that you will end up like a disco ball when using this blush. Don’t be afraid its not the case 🙂 It gives kiss of color to the cheeks and beautiful glow. Can you tell I’m all about the glow on summertime 🙂
These are all my favorite blushes to wear on summertime. Hope you enjoyed it and thank you for reading 🙂
