Welcome back to the blog! I am running behind on my accompanying blog posts for the videos that are going up twice a week on my Youtube channel, but here is the first of a trio. In my latest video I swatched and reviewed all 15 lipsticks that Makeup Geek so kindly sent me but since there are three different types of lipsticks, I will be going through them in three different posts. Today we are taking a look at some Makeup Geek Iconic Lipstick swatches.
On this blog we talk about buying makeup, wanting makeup, and that’s not so good for our wallets, mine or yours. After the success of the first Anti Haul (here), here we go again with another episode. In this video and post I explain what I am NOT gonna buy among the latest lipstick releases and why. There are so many lip products out there to talk about that I thought I’d keep it strictly to those for this episode. This is an original idea by the amazing Kimberly Clark on Youtube, she is such a fun character to watch, I really recommend you to check her out!
Welcome back to another episode of The Color Analysis Wars! Tan tan tan (dramatic sound effects). In this series I have collaborated with my friend Fran from Being Cute is Not a Crime to compare how lipsticks look like on the two of us. To know more, read the first episode with the introduction here. Just to remind you, Fran has been analyzed as Deep Winter and I am a Deep Autumn, thanks to Giusy from Rossetto e Merletto. .Moving on to this post, we’re taking a look at nude lipsticks that suits us deep seasons. The main characteristics of these lipsticks is that they do not contain any white or grey, two colors that “kill” deep autumns and winters.
MAC Cosmetics has a habit of launching Limited Editions every few weeks and I am never one to pay much attention. However, the It’s a Strike collection struck me (lol, I had to) for the gorgeous lipstick so I picked up MAC Bowl Me Over lipstick and I’m in love and I want to talk to you about it.
Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you had a good beauty week! Mine was a crazy one in which I got married and started my new job. And that was just Monday and Tuesday! The weather was amazing and bright lipsticks were a must all week. If you’re new to the #LipsticksOfTheWeek series, check out Itsfrancifra’s introduction post (here) and all my previous ones (here).
This year I am going to take part of a lovely Tag called The Christmas Advent Challenge organized by the lovely girls over at What’s in my bag and Consigli di Makeup to celebrate this month leading up to the holidays with some Christmas themed blog posts. The first challenge is to show your perfect red, and for me that’s undeniably lipstick!!!
This time last year I bought myself my first MAC lipstick and that was Diva, the perfect dark red with a purple undertone matte lipstick, do I have to say more? LOVE! Now I’m not one for getting a 19€ lipstick everyday, so up to that moment i was surviving (and very happily) with my Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate matte 107 which is a very similar shade, just a tad lighter on the lips, same matte texture and for 10€ and the drugstore discounts, definitely a super affordable dupe!
And now for my absolute favorite of the bunch, the one that i wear the most over even my MAC Diva, is the new L’Oreal Collection Exclusive Letitia’s Red. I raved about this line here and I do believe I found my perfect red in this deep warm toned lipstick. Goes on like a charm (excuse my chapped lips), lasts all day with a bit of a stain left over and has a very comfortable demi-matte finish that doesn’t dry out the lips like the MAC mattes do. A pleasure to wear, a show stopper for day and night and my favorite red for winter!
So here are three options for my perfect red lips for the festive season. If you want to join the challenge, you can find the presentation here (only in italian sorry). There are 3 more installments to accompany us to Christmas, so I hope you’ll enjoy this journey.
Have you found your perfect red? Is it a lipstick, nail polish or a dress?
