Anastasia Clear Brow Gel: is it worth the hype?

Highend vs drugstore, the never ending dilemma. I am a sucker for polished and elegant packaging but as a general guideline, I definitely prefer performance over looks. I am always on the look out for affordable products that do the same job as high end products, but sometimes, it is just worth it to spend the extra bucks for a products that is simply amazing. This is the case for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel.

My everyday brow gel for the past 3 years has been the Essence Lash & Brow Gel, it is available in the drugstore and is incredibly inexpensive. However, i always needed to put it on last, after all the rest of my makeup was done because the brush picks up a lot of product and the brows stay wet for a couple of minutes after application. Now this was nothing weird to me, as this is the effect I always observe with drugstore brow gels.
Then in my September Beauty Box came a deluxe sample of the Anastasia beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel and my whole prospective changed. Less product on the brush, much faster drying time and brows that don’t budge for a whole 12h day. I am still impressed every time I use it. The only thing that puts me a bit off is the fact that the brows feel hard when you tough them, as if you had scrunchy hairspray on them. I am not super bothered because they still look natural, but not enthusiastic about it either. Oh ya, and then there’s the price. This wonderful clear brow gel retails for 22$ on Amazon (here) and 28€ at Douglas (here). Now the difference of the american and European prices is already irritating as it is, plus with the fact that Amazon ships safely and inexpensively, I think I will purchase the full size from the US when my sample is finished.
So is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel worth the hype? I say yes!
