The Morphe x Jaclyn Hill has been one of the most anticipated releases of this summer and I was online on the hour purchasing it because it just spoke to me. As I mentioned in my video, I am not a big Morphe fan, but I find Jaclyn Hill’s taste in shadows very close to mine. However, i do understand not everyone can or wants to purchase from Morphe. So here are my Morphe x Jaclyn Hill palette dupes and review for you guys. Also remember: restock is July 18th at 8 am PST.
Mophe x Jacklyn Hill palette review
I give an in depth review of the palette in the video above. In summary, it is a wonderful palette, worth its price of $38. However, these are not new shades and there are many similar shades in the palette itself. So if you have a vast collection like me, it makes sense only if you’re addicted to collecting makeup. Personally I love the shades and there are a few unique ones I couldn’t dupe, which make it worth it for me. I haven’t stopped using the Morphe x Jaclyn Hill palette since I got. You can check out some looks I created with this palette on my Instagram.
Morphe x Jaclyn Hill palette dupes: Row 1
In this first row, I didn’t have too many problems finding dupes among my single shadows, except for the last one. The last shade is more orangey than Makeup Geek In the Spotlight, but I must say I prefer the MUG shade anyway.
Morphe x Jaclyn Hill palette dupes: Row 2
Row two has two of my favorite shades: the matte burnt orange and the last two shimmers. As you can see from the swatches, all dupes are pretty close.
Morphe x Jaclyn Hill palette dupes: Row 3
Ok so row 3 is also another one of my favorite, with all the red tones. It was harder to find dupes for these shades because most reds are usually cool toned with a berry undertone, like Makeup Geek Bitten. It is in fact not a dupe for the shade in the Jaclyn Hill palette, which is more red, buttery and pigmented than my Bitten (which is admittedly 6 years old by now, oops).
Morphe x Jaclyn Hill palette dupes: Row 4
This purple was a nightmare. Very cool toned and deep, I couldn’t find a close enough dupe. I did find a dupe for the blue in the Juvia’s Place Masquerade Mini palette. i also couldn’t find dupes in my collection for the cool toned greige or the gorgeous warm brown with silver glitter.
Morphe x Jaclyn Hill palette dupes: Row 5
Notable shades in this last row are the first three. The shimmery aqua shade has a beautiful mint green sheen that the dupe I found, Colourpop Tiny Tangerines, doesn’t have. The third shade in particular is one of my favorites in the Morphe x Jaclyn Hill palette. It is a complex shade with a beautiful shine, that I used in this look here. A small mention on the black, which tends to a dark blue and isn’t all that pigmented compared to Makeup Geek Corrupt.
So overall this palette was worth for me for all the shades i do not own, as well as having all the shades in one place. i just wished one of the top two shades were matte. I don’t need so many shimmery highlights.
Have you managed to snatch this palette at launch or are you going to grab it at the restock on July 17th? Let me know if you have any other suggestions or comparisons for the Morphe x Jaclyn Hill palette dupes.
