Hey you there
How you doin’
Can I ask you something
Are you dead or alive
When you’re drifting slowly away
I’ll be here to keep you today
With fire in my eyes
I’ll be like fire in your eyes
This Guano Apes song was running in my head while I was creating this fire inspired makeup for Carnival this year. I am not one to usually celebrate since here in The Netherlands it’s all about terrible music and naked bodies. This year however a few friends were coming over to visit and see the dutch carnival, so I decided to join and spring to the occasion of playing with makeup and create something different than what I wear usually.
Oh Fall, I so dreaded your arrival and yet I’m so happy you’re here and the second appointment with the Fall in Love Tag, initiated by Marta of Caffelatte for Breakfast lets me express my love for this season’s colors. I adore the orange, brown, red leaves falling from the trees among the green grass, and the bright blue mornings when the fresh air slaps me awake during a run. Autumn you are lovely season blessed with wonderful nature that inspired this look today. I went for a walk in the woods to collect leaves and pine cones to decorate the house and I was blown away by the green, red, orange and yellows, so here is what I came up with.

I used all my current favorite makeup for this look and am quite happy with the result. However, this was one of the typical occasions in which your eyeshadow look is on point and then the eyeliner fails you. I will try the scotch tape trick next time to get a sharper line. Oh and forgive my unruly hair, hihi.
I would love to hear your thoughts and critique on this look. Practice makes perfect, so keep your eyes open for the following fall inspired looks, and don’t forget to check out the #FallInLoveTAG page for more info if you want to participate to one of the installments!
This is a series started by BeautyBats that has now reached its third edition among Italian beauty bloggers, in which we recreate makeup looks from gorgeous/amazing/talented beauty gurus like Linda Halberg (insert heart shaped eyes here). It’s a great way to challenge myself and try something new and daring and improve my makeup skills. There will be a look every first day of the month for a year, so let’s get this party started!
The first look is Poison Berry from I Love My Addiction, a beautiful combination of green and purple that makes me think of the character Poison Ivy from Batman. I was excited and intimidated to recreate such a bright and colorful look and the biggest challenge was finding the right colors and deciding on the shape of the look. Clearly something went wrong with my wing liner as I normally never place it so low/horizontal. All in all I am quite pleased with the eyeshadow look though. Please forgive the low quality of the photos, I was fighting with the camera settings and didn’t notice it went in low resolution mode.

Holiday season is my favorite time of the year to dress up and amp up my makeup for parties. This time I want to go with a new very colorful look and the stars here are Cattleya eyeshadow from Nabla Cosmetics and Rebel by MAC. I’ve been wanting to use Cattleya since I bought it this summer, but all my warm red tones always called me more, so I finally decided to make it the center piece and boy isn’t is absolutely stunning!!!
Today’s is a quick fotd post. This week i have been taking a bit more time to do my makeup in the morning and I have really been enjoying it! For this look I created a wearable daytime look with a gradient from orange to pink and I am really pleased of how it worked out!! I am by no means a professional and this is just what I like.
