First twelfth of the year is over and here we are again for the January beauty favorites. I must say January has been great so far from the blog side of things and I’ve been feeling very motivated to write and film and put out more content. I am still figuring out a good schedule for videos and blog posts as well as understanding how I should go about posting videos on the blog or not. But blabbing aside, let’s get into these beauty favorites!
Here we are for Part 2 of my 2016 makeup favorites. In Part 1 I told you all about my favorite products for the base and the face so now let’s take a look to eyes and lips. As I mentioned before, on the Youtube channel I split my favorites between Italian and other makeup, but on the blog I divided it by product type. So lets take a look at my favorite eye and lip makeup.
I am not one to dwell on the past, but going through my stash to find my 2016 makeup favorites is another matter. I have discovered a lot of amazing new makeup this year, some of which has become my go-to, holy grail, marry me-status makeup so I can’t wait to share them with you. This is a long post!
After months of resistance convincing myself that I didn’t need it, I caved and bought the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette with the sale at Ulta. I have used it for a bit now and though I am blown away by the quality of it, I decided to go through my Makeup Geek eyeshadow collection (read more here) because I had a feeling I already owned similar shades. So here is my review of the palette and some Makeup Geek Modern Renaissance dupes.
Gold Gold Gold! I’ve had this post in mind for a long time, since a friend asked a comparison between different gold eyeshadows I had. I took pictures and they all sat in my laptop until I came across this video by the gorgeous Elsa of Like a Candy Shop. She shared all of her favorite peach-colored makeup and it pushed me to take out the idea from the drawer. Well good news is that instead of only my favorite gold makeup products, Elsa has agreed to collaborate and share her favorites as well.
Holiday season is upon us, and it’s the perfect excuse to go all out on glam makeup. Today’s video is a makeup tutorial on this purple and gold look for a holiday or New Year’s Eve party in collaboration with a fellow youtuber Rotem Beauty.
After the great success of the Autumn Glow bundle, Makeup Geek released a new discounted eyeshadow bundle for the holiday season 2016. The Makeup Geek Holiday Bundle is a great selection of 9 shades, 6 matte and 3 foiled, perfect for the holiday season. In this video I swatch the shades, give you my opinion and show you two easy makeup looks you can do with these Makeup Geek eyeshadows.
After last episode’s look into some cozy Fall routines and recipes (here), Marta from Caffelatte for Breakfast has thrown a new challenge at us for the fifth episode of the #FallInLoveTAG2. This time we are exploring Fall Trends by taking inspiration from Pantone’s Fashion Color Report for Fall 2016 (here). When Marta told us to do a Pantone Fall Trends 2016 makeup look, I was of course attracted by the yellow, orange, red and green shades, that are my daily comfort zone. In fact, I just recently published a tutorial on a Thanksgiving makeup look using such colors (here). However, the prompt also said to challenge ourselves, so indecisive and challenged I was while creating this double faced makeup inspired by fall colors.
Happy Sunday! Today’s video is a collaboration with some lovely girls I met on the Beauty and the Vlog Facebook Group (here). We decided to all share our makeup looks, recipes and memories inspired by the holiday of Thanksgiving and pumpkin spices. As you have read last week, I am obsessed with pumpkin spices and shared my favorite recipes in this post here. This week I’ll share a Thanksgiving makeup tutorial that you can wear for the holidays next week. Some fall colors, some glitter and an orangey lip are my idea of a Thanksgiving makeup look.
My hooded eyes have been one of the reasons that pushed me to explore and learn makeup because I have always wanted to correct them. Four years of experimenting later, I decided to push myself and try a makeup technique that has been raging on the web and is completely new to me. For this video I bring to you a cut crease makeup tutorial for hooded eyes that elongates the eyes and still corrects the hood thanks to the blending of matte eyeshadows. Don’t forget to like the video and subscribe to my channel to see future videos!
