Oh I am so behind on this series, I apologize. We are now on the third palette for my #OnePaletteOneWeek challenge as a part of the #100DaysOfMakeup challenge I’m doing and we’re talking about the gorgeous Lime Crime Venus II palette. If you’re new around here, in this series I wear only one eyeshadow palette for a whole week and try to come up with different looks each time. This allows me to push myself to be creative and at the same time give more love to all the eyeshadows in my collection. To catch up on the other episodes, click here.
Welcome back to another post on Colourpop goodies! Just like the last one (read it here), we are again talking about eyeshadows, and specifically of the new Colourpop Love A Flare set. On my Youtube channel you can find swatches of the collection and a demo to create a fall inspired makeup look.
I have a lot of makeup, and a lot of eyeshadows for that matter. I know, shocking huh? Well, to make sure all my eyeshadows get some good use, I decided to start the #OnePaletteOneWeek challenge. Ok, it’s not an official challenge, but I want to challenge myself to change it up a bit and stop wearing always my same 10 Makeup Geek eyeshadows all the time. So since last week I decided I am going to use only one eyeshadow palette for one whole week and try to vary the eye looks as much as I can.
The first palette I picked for this challenge is the stunning Lime Crime Venus 1 palette which I showed you in my latest haul (here). Ok, not so adventurous you’ll say, colors you always wear Alice. That’s very true, but I wanted to ease myself into it. The palette is absolutely stunning and after wearing it for a week every day, I also have a mini review at the end of this post.
Liquid lipsticks have been a huge trend for the past few years and I have been absolutely on each release since. I hate retouching lipstick during the day or showing up at a dinner with red lipstick and end up without any by the end of the evening. Liquid lipsticks have been my answer for the past two years.
Before the trend started, there were a few brands who already had long wearing lipstick formulas and I wrote one of my first ever blog posts on them here if you fancy a read. One of the first liquid lipsticks I ever bought was the Maybelline SuperStay 24 Color in 510 Red Passion. This was my only lipstick for a long time. Funny enough, I have received two of these lipsticks from Influenster to review for you guys. Let’s take a look.
Last week I presented the new Makeup Geek eyeshadow releases in this overview post here, and showing you all the foiled shadows swatches and comparisons here. Now it’s time to look at the new Makeup Geek Signature eyeshadows for Fall 2016. There are a total of 9 new eyeshadows of which 7 are matte and 2 are shimmery. All nine new eyeshadows are neutral colors ranging from cool, to warm tones, to orange. I swatched the new shades next to other similar shadows in my collection both from Makeup Geek and other brands. I apologize for the goosebumps in the photos, Fall is here, and I hadn’t turned on the heating yet, brr.
I recently gave you a first look into the new Makeup Geek eyeshadows that launched for Fall 2016 in this post here. Since there are a total of 18 new shades, I decided to show you the comparisons in two separate posts. Let’s start with the new Makeup Geek foiled eyeshadows.
Rather than a specific Fall-themed collection, this is an expansion of the current foiled eyeshadow line. All the new Makeup Geek foiled eyeshadow shades are unique and different from anything existent from the brand. Nevertheless, I think a comparison of each shade with similar ones in my collection could help you get an idea whether you need them or not. A small sad note is that my collection is quite a bit smaller after moving overseas, but I hope you get a good idea of the shades.
MAC Cosmetics has a habit of launching Limited Editions every few weeks and I am never one to pay much attention. However, the It’s a Strike collection struck me (lol, I had to) for the gorgeous lipstick so I picked up MAC Bowl Me Over lipstick and I’m in love and I want to talk to you about it.
It is no secret that Makeup Geek is my favorite eyeshadow brand, si it will come as now shock that there is another update post. Beauty Bay had a big sale some time ago and I picked up some more shadows on the way. I was initially quite weary of the foiled eyeshadows because of the rumors that they creased, but I finally was won over by the incredible pigmentation and color payoff so I have quite a few of them here. As usual I will give the official description and a mini review for every shade. If you want to see all my other Makeup geek eyeshadows, check out the previous posts here and here.
After my Makeup Stash posts on my Makeup Geek eyeshadows (here and here), I want to introduce my other favorite makeup brand Nabla Cosmetics. Nabla is an independent Italian brand that is certified cruelty free and makes mostly vegan products, with exception of those containing bee wax. Created by makeup artist Mr. Daniel Makeup, collections are released every year in July and December and new product lines have been added recently of which I’ll talk about in further posts. For now, I want to show you the eyeshadows, which are in my opinion the thing they do best.
